Moving Terms & Conditions

Details:

- “Client” or “Clients” means the party entering into the agreement with BR-AU and includes the party to whom our quotation/invoice is addressed and the party whom the acceptance is signed and or has been issued these terms via their email address.

- “BR-AU” means Brisbane Removalists AU. as owned and operated by Urban Island Enterprises Pty Ltd.

- “Goods” means furniture and other effects which are to be the subject of the service according to the locations stated on the client removal invoice/quotation.

- “Third-party property” means any physical structures which are to be the subject of the service according to the locations stated on the client removal invoice/quotation.

“Rates and Charges”
Our rates Monday to Friday are $199 per hour including GST (charged in 15-minute increments) with a 2-hour minimum charge plus a 30-minute minimum charge to cover depot-to-depot travel from Milton.
Our rates for Saturday are $229 per hour including GST (charged in 15-minute increments), with a 2-hour minimum charge plus a 30-minute minimum charge to cover depot-to-depot travel from Milton.
Our rates for Sunday are $259 per hour including GST (charged in 15-minute increments), with a 3-hour minimum charge plus a 30-minute minimum charge to cover depot-to-depot travel from Milton. Included are 2 professionally trained removalists and a fully equipped truck.
Should the move require additional movers this will be charged accordingly at $80 per hour per mover including GST.
Depot travel is calculated at the same rate and is also charged in 15-minute increments.
If invoices are unpaid after the payment due date, we have the right to engage debt collection services for the collection of unpaid and undisputed debts, which will include the debt collection fee incurred by BR. We have the right to commence legal proceedings for any outstanding amounts owed to us, and the corresponding sum of legal fees generated in the process.

These terms and conditions govern the insurance cover arrangement for goods and third-party property entered into between the Client and BR-AU in respect to the furniture removal job according to the locations stated on the Client removal invoice/quotation. Terms and conditions of the insured goods and third-party property during the relocation process are legally binding according to the following conditions. Insurance and damages claims will not be deemed valid according to points 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13 as set out according to this document.

1. BR-AU does not insure and are not liable for damages for contents of boxes or contents of sealed objects which have been packed by the client that may result in damage or loss. BR-AU does not insure and is not liable for contents that are obscured by any form of packaging that may result in damage or loss. These exclusions will apply throughout the entire relocation process according to the locations stated on the client removal invoice/quotation.
2. BR-AU shall not bear any responsibility and the Client agrees BR-AU is not liable for loss or damage of any nature to goods or third-party property once the BR-AU removal team leaves the stated property/s according to the locations documented on the Clients removal invoice/quotation. It is the Clients entire responsibility to check the goods and third-party property for damages during and at the completion of the removal job. No such claims will be accepted past the completion of the removal job according to the locations documented on the Clients removal invoice/quotation.
3. BR-AU do not insure and are not liable for damages to glass, marble or unboxed televisions whilst in transit (between pickup and destination) due to the fragile nature of these items and the risk due to motion. You will be required to sign off on these items before transit occurs.
4. Excluded from any claims according to the locations documented on the client’s removal invoice/quotation to goods and third-party property are the following conditions: corrosion, contamination, deterioration, decay, infestation, mouldiness and electrical or mechanical derangement unless resulting from physical loss or evidence of physical damage of the property. As well as wear, tear, depreciation and loss or damage caused by or resulting from inherent brittleness or nature of the property.
5. It is the Clients responsibility to account for delivery of all transported goods according to the locations documented on the client’s removal invoice. The client should take the initiative to inspect the removal vehicle at the completion of the removal job to ensure all goods have been removed and delivered according to the locations documented on the client’s removal invoice. Any claims made for missing items must be made prior to the removalists leaving either the pickup or delivery addresses.
6. Excluded from any claims by the Client according to the locations documented on the Clients removal invoice relating to damage or staining to goods or third-party property that are affected or altered by water damage resulting from any occurrence that is related to but not limited to weather-related events and disconnection or re-connection of hose fittings and related appliance fittings.
7. Disconnection of services – While all care is taken with the disconnection of appliances such as washing machines, dryers, fridges, freezers etc, it is the client’s full responsibility to check the physical disconnection of the appliances. As an example, it is the client’s responsibility to ensure that any taps or water connections are closed and not leaking prior to the removalists team departing the site at both the pickup and delivery locations. It is also the client’s responsibility to notify all relevant parties of any disconnections that have been performed.
8. Electrical services – It is the client’s total responsibility to ensure that all electrical services, g., lights, power outlets etc are switched off prior to the removalists team departing the site at both the pickup and delivery locations.
9. The vast majority of modern furniture is not designed to be dismantled & reassembled. For this very reason BR-AU will assist with this should it be necessary to move the item/items safely & efficiently. This will only be undertaken on the understanding whilst all care is taken with the furniture dismantled & then reassembly BR-AU shall not bear any responsibility and is not liable for any damage to any item that has been dismantled and or reassembled or for any damage it may have caused to third party property.
10. Any claims relating to damages or loss must be documented on the Clients invoice with a clear description of the nature of the damage or loss. The Client and a BR-AU representative must both sign the invoice to acknowledge the damages or loss in order for any such claim to be deemed valid according to the locations documented on the Client’s removal invoice/quotation. Valid insurance claims may attract a $500.00 excess payable by the Client. Conditions apply.
11. Our rates Monday to Friday have a 2-hour minimum charge plus a 30-minute minimum charge to cover depot-to-depot travel from Milton. Saturday is a 3-hour minimum charge plus a 30-minute minimum charge to cover depot-to-depot travel from Milton.
12. Heavy Lift – A heavy lift fee will be charged for any item over 120kg. A 2-man lift will be charged at $125, a 3-man lift at $180 and a 4-man lift at $250.
13. Tolls – Long haul moves often incur toll fees. Occasionally, it may be preferable in a local move, depending on time of day and location, to take the toll option if it shortens your move and reduces the risk of being caught in traffic. This would be discussed with you prior and would therefore incur a toll fee.

The Client agrees that by engaging Brisbane Removalists AU the Client agrees with the terms and conditions of this document in its entirety.

We engaged this company to move my furniture from Caboolture South to North Lakes. The uplift of furniture into a container went smoothly, the 2 gents handled the furniture with care and although it took a little longer than anticipated everything was packed neatly and the container was taken away and placed into storage for 7 days.On the day the furniture was delivered to our place in North Lakes, the unloading went smoothly and the 2 gents were very polite and helpful placing the items where we requested.Unfortunately French door fridge had dents in two of the large doors. We took photos and reported the damage immediately to Brisbane Removalists admin who took ownership of the damage and assured me they would have the fridge doors replaced.They kept me informed of progress and two weeks later we had new doors fitted to the fridge.I can highly recommend this company as from the outset they were very professional and upfront with costs etc.There was absolutely no hesitation in having my fridge repaired and went out of their way to ensure I was satisfied and happy with the outcome.We have used a few different removal companies and without any doubt, Brisbane Removalists are by far the most professional, helpful and honest company we have ever dealt with.Doug & Bev Whitehorn

Prior to booking with Brisbane Removalists, I had gotten quotes from a number of different companies, and went with them as they were the only company that didn't spam me with multiple phone calls, texts and emails every day.This being our first larger move, I was fairly stressed about it and was expecting many things to go wrong, but it was smooth and easy throughout the process. Eileen was super responsive and friendly in the booking process. We had a last-minute change in schedule with under 24h until the move needed to commence, but Eileen was able to accommodate us for the next day, without any dramas.Our movers were Dairo and Camilo. They showed up with big smiles and got to work quickly. I was very impressed with how strong and careful they were. We had an apartment-to-apartment move, and there was no damage to any of our walls or lifts, nor to any of our belongings. I could barely hear any noise as they were working, which is a testament to how gentle they were. We had some heavy and delicate items (piano, artworks), and there was no damage, not even on the plastic wrapping.Overall I was very impressed by the level of service and care and hope to use them again for my next move!

From our initial inquiry, Eileen was very transparent and detailed which made us feel reassured about our move. We also had a last minute booking which they were able to cater for. This is a known defect with tempered glass - showers, ovens etc. that just randomly explode. I believe this is why insurance companies do not like to cover glass. We have a lot of office jobs in the CBD with 20 minute loading zone time constraints, early morning or after hours moving only allowed, or height restrictions that no truck will fit under, so we are used to trying to find solutions to the difficult moves, but it is not always easy. I think a lot of the buildings were built at a time where access was not really thought through - we just have to deal with this. Hopefully, the return will be smoother with a transship.
