Each move is broken into 2 parts
This allows your 2 superheroes to get from our depot in Milton to your first property and to return to the depot from your second property once the move is finished.
So, looking on google maps, if you were moving to Chermside from Morningside, you can see it is 15 minutes from Milton to Chermside and then 15 minutes from Morningside to Milton. This is therefore a 30-minute call out fee.
We keep the fee separate to ensure transparency. Sometimes we add a buffer when going to the Gold Coast or Sunshine Coast given the risk of traffic at peak times. This is set in stone so if we get stuck in traffic, it is on us.
How the charge is calculated.
The clock starts when the team arrives at your first home. They uplift your goods, drive to your new property and unload. Then the clock stops. If we get stuck in traffic on the job between pickup and drop-off, it is on you.
For this part of the job, we charge the hourly rate, GST inclusive, without hidden fees. There are no extra fees for stairs, lifts, dismantling of furniture, or sloping driveways.
These are all part of our service. You just need to multiply the number of hours by the hourly rate and add the call-out.
We rarely have a heavy lift fee. This is only when you have objects that weigh over 120kgs such as a pool table or a piano.
Not only are all our fees GST inclusive, but we do not charge a deposit. We work on a trust basis. We give you the security of not having to pay anything upfront, but we ask that you do not cancel 3 days before and leave our team without work at the last minute.
We have a 2-hour minimum for all jobs. After this, we charge in 15-minute increments only. So, if you do 4 hours and 10 minutes, you will only be charged 4 hours 15 and not 5 hours.
So, the most frequently asked question is how long will it take? An estimate is all we can give you.
Typically, a one-bedroom will take 2 hours to upload and offload, a 2 bedroom around 4 hours, a 3 bedroom around 6 hours to complete and a 4 bedroom around 8. This is only an estimation and you should base your bedroom size on what you have. If we are only moving the big items, then it will not reflect the true size of the house, but a bedroom size equivalent.
Each move is different and there are 2 factors that will make a positive or negative impact on the time of your move. One is traffic and the other is access. If you have driveway-to-driveway parking, single-storey to single-storey, if you are organized and have everything ready to go, you are only getting us to move the heavy items and if there are no traffic issues, your move will go faster. Feel free to help out!
If however, you have poor access and we have to park down the street, have bad traffic, have to share lifts, navigate underground passages, ramps and glass doors just to get to the lift or pass furniture over balconies that will not fit in the lift or stairs, then it will probably take longer.
Try not to over or under-estimate the size of your move as we do not want to turn up with the wrong-sized truck. Remember, the more you tell us, the better the move.
