Here are some tips to help you with this.
Use the appropriate packing box.
Make use of new corrugated packing boxes, make sure the bottom of the box is reinforced with packing tape.
Use large tea chest style cartons for large bulky lightweight items. In these, you can pack clothes, lightweight electrical items, toys and pots and pans for example.
Kitchen and heavier type items should be packed in medium or book cartons. Cutlery, crockery, china, books and magazines and the like.
The simple way to move clothes is by packing them straight into a porta robe.
Avoid over-packing all boxes or cartons with heavy items. Or using boxes that are so large they become a hazard as they are so much more difficult to move. Breakages then become a real problem.
Not to mention this will also certainly slow the moving process costing you money. This not good if you want an affordable removal and a no-damage removal.
Keep all packed box weight under 20kg, over this, you should clearly label as “HEAVY”.

There are many things we need to preparing moving home. Here are just some:
- What day and date your move is planned for
- Your preferred time of the move (extremely important if there are lift booking required or settlement times involved)
- Where you are moving to and from and what you are moving
- The amount and type of items being moved. (is the house fully furnished, or do you just need assistance moving the heavier type items such as the bed, fridge, washing machine and table) This allows us to program the appropriate truck, team, and time
- Access at each location. (are lift bookings required, is there good access and close parking for the truck, any stairs)
- Make sure you advise if there is a pool table, piano or any large or heavy items
- When we have all of the details a booking is emailed to you to check and confirm. Once confirmed your booking is locked in. (No chance of double bookings with our moving software)
