How Budget 2025 and Regional Living Trends Will Reshape the Moving Industry

A Nation on the Move

The Federal Budget 2025–26 has laid the groundwork for a fundamental transformation in the way Australians live. With soaring property prices and rising urban congestion, many households are turning their attention to regional areas in search of greater affordability, improved quality of life, and a slower, more balanced pace. This year’s budget not only acknowledges this trend—it actively supports it, allocating significant resources to strengthen regional economies and attract more residents outside the capital cities.

As a result, the link between Budget 2025 and regional living has become more pronounced than ever. Policy shifts and funding measures are aimed at making regional centres more accessible and appealing, from infrastructure upgrades to cost-of-living relief. These changes are encouraging a new wave of migration to towns and smaller communities across Queensland and Northern NSW—areas long appreciated for their lifestyle benefits, but now also positioned for economic growth.

For the removalist industry, this shift signals a surge in long-distance and moving services in regional Australia. Movers operating in these areas, like Brisbane Removalists, are uniquely positioned to support this growing demand. With experience in servicing regional routes, understanding of local logistics, and the capability to adapt to client needs, we’re already seeing increased bookings as families, professionals, and retirees make the decision to leave the city behind.

Infrastructure Spending Reshapes Access

Faster, Safer Routes for Regional Relocations

One of the standout elements of the Federal Budget 2025–26 is its bold commitment to upgrading the nation’s roads and rail infrastructure. With billions earmarked for long-term projects—such as improvements to the Bruce Highway and the expansion of regional freight corridors—rural and coastal towns across Queensland and New South Wales are poised to become more accessible and connected than ever before. These upgrades not only promise smoother travel but also support the broader goal of unlocking the potential of regional communities.

This infrastructure investment in Australia 2025 is particularly significant for the logistics and removalist sectors. Better roads reduce the risk of delays caused by poor conditions, traffic bottlenecks, and unreliable travel routes. For professional movers, this translates into more predictable scheduling, enhanced vehicle efficiency, and increased capacity to serve clients across broader geographic regions. It also means greater access to towns that were previously considered too remote or difficult to reach on a tight timeline.

With enhanced infrastructure comes the ability to offer more competitive pricing, improve delivery times, and ensure a higher standard of service to both residential and commercial clients. For removalists like Brisbane Removalists, this shift creates an opportunity to expand operations, reach new customers, and support a growing population migrating to the regions. Whether it’s a long-distance household move or a business relocation, improved transport corridors will become a cornerstone of future moving success.

Supporting Recovery in Disaster-Affected Areas

Rebuilding Lives with Disaster Recovery Support in Queensland

In recent years, Northern Queensland has been no stranger to natural disasters, with severe flooding and cyclones leaving lasting damage across homes, roads, and communities. The Budget 2025 and Regional Living strategy recognises this reality, allocating billions in targeted disaster recovery to help these areas rebuild and recover. From infrastructure restoration to housing repair and flood mitigation efforts, the government’s support marks a critical step toward long-term regional resilience.

This substantial disaster recovery funding in Queensland is expected to trigger a surge in both temporary and permanent relocations. Families displaced by flood damage may require emergency moves into rental accommodation or alternate properties, while others may choose to relocate permanently to safer or better-supported towns. These shifts will increase demand for moving services in regional Australia, especially from providers who can manage time-sensitive relocations and operate safely in partially restored environments.

At Brisbane Removalists, we’re prepared to support these moves with urgency and care. Our team is trained to assist clients during challenging circumstances—whether they’re returning home after repairs or starting fresh in a new town. With a strong presence in regional Queensland and Northern NSW, we deliver dependable service, even when conditions are complex. As more communities rebuild, our goal is to ensure every move is safe, efficient, and handled with the compassion it deserves.

Economic Growth Stimulates Regional Population Trends

Job Creation Spurs Long-Distance Moves

The Federal Budget 2025 and Regional Living focus has placed renewed emphasis on stimulating sustainable economic growth in regional areas. Through targeted investment in sectors such as clean energy, advanced manufacturing, and transport infrastructure, the government is aiming to revitalise communities beyond the capital cities. These initiatives are designed not only to stabilise local economies but also to create long-term employment opportunities where they’re needed most, while also addressing broader concerns around housing availability and cost of living relief in 2025.

As a result of this regional development in Australia, job seekers are increasingly turning their attention to towns and cities outside the urban sprawl. Areas across Queensland and Northern New South Wales are attracting skilled workers, tradespeople, and young families looking to take advantage of new employment, better housing options, and improved work-life balance. This migration is driving a tangible rise in both residential and commercial relocations, especially in high-growth hubs like Toowoomba, Gladstone, and Ballina.

With this surge comes increased demand for moving services in regional Australia—not just for household moves, but also for businesses relocating to take advantage of new industrial spaces or logistics centres. At Brisbane Removalists, we’re already seeing an uptick in bookings from families starting fresh in regional towns, as well as companies seeking flexible, scalable moving solutions. Our team of long-distance removalists in Brisbane is well-equipped to handle this growing shift, providing tailored support for clients embracing the benefits of regional living.

Affordability Drives Lifestyle Relocations

Families Seek Space Without the City Price Tag

The Budget 2025 and Regional Living strategy includes a range of household-focused measures designed to ease financial pressure on Australians. Among the most notable are income tax cuts and direct energy rebates, which are already improving the affordability of everyday living. With these savings in place, many individuals and families are taking the opportunity to reassess their housing situations and explore alternative lifestyles outside the urban grind.

Thanks to this cost of living relief in 2025, regional living is becoming more accessible than ever. Regional centres throughout Queensland and Northern NSW offer larger homes, lower property prices, and a greater sense of community—without the stress of city congestion or high rental costs. Combined with the growing acceptance of remote and hybrid work arrangements, these towns are becoming ideal destinations for those seeking a more balanced, affordable life.

With this surge in interest comes a growing need for moving services in regional Australia, particularly from those seeking support with complex or long-distance relocations. At Brisbane Removalists, we specialise in helping people make this lifestyle transition a reality. As trusted long-distance removalists based in Brisbane, we’re seeing a clear increase in demand from families and professionals leaving the city behind for good.

Experienced Movers Make All the Difference

Trusted Support for Regional and Long-Distance Moves

The Budget 2025 and Regional Living strategy brings forward a series of targeted household measures that make it easier for Australians to rethink where—and how—they live. From income tax cuts to energy rebates, these initiatives are designed to provide meaningful cost of living relief in 2025. With more disposable income at hand, many individuals and families are now weighing up the benefits of leaving behind city congestion in favour of more space, lower housing costs, and a greater sense of lifestyle satisfaction.

Across Queensland and Northern NSW, regional towns like Toowoomba, Grafton, and Bundaberg are seeing renewed interest as attractive relocation destinations. These areas are not only more affordable but are also benefiting from broader regional development in Australia, with new infrastructure, services, and employment opportunities creating sustainable growth. Combined with the flexibility of remote work, the appeal of moving away from metropolitan centres is at an all-time high.

This shift in lifestyle preferences is driving up demand for moving services in regional Australia, particularly for those requiring experience with long-distance and semi-rural relocations. At Brisbane Removalists, we’re proud to support this evolving trend with professional, reliable solutions tailored to each move. As trusted long-distance removalists Brisbane, we offer:

Looking Ahead

Planning Your Move in a Shifting Landscape

The Budget 2025 and Regional Living agenda sends a clear message: regional Australia is on the rise. Through targeted investments and affordability-focused measures, the government is helping open the doors to areas once considered out of reach. With better infrastructure, greater economic support, and increased connectivity, regional towns are not only more liveable—they’re becoming strong contenders for long-term settlement and business investment.

This renewed focus on regional development in Australia is encouraging more people to seriously consider life outside the major capital cities. Whether it’s the wide open space, lower living costs, or growing job opportunities, moving to regional areas is no longer just a lifestyle dream—it’s a practical and appealing reality. Towns like Ipswich, Bundaberg, and Inverell are fast becoming the new frontiers of family life, remote work, and small business growth.

In a word, brilliant, hardworking and knowledgable, did the job, with good humour and a big attention to detail, could not give bigger recommendation of Hallei (may have gotten the spelling wrong but one strong and pleasant individual) and his team mate the ever optimistic and energetic Thomas ... great guys and so was their their helper in the initial upload ... can't recommend them strongly enough ..
Response from the owner:Good morning, William, it is lovely to come into the office with this to start the day. Thank you so much for taking the time to review us. It is really valuable in supporting our business, so we thank you! I will let Javier, Thomas and Jhon know that you appreciated their energy and great attitudes on top of their superpowers! We wish you all the very best in your new home and hope that it ticks all the boxes. It was lovely dealing with you throughout the process. Brisbane Removalists assisted us with our recent office relocation in Hendra, and we couldn’t be happier with the experience!

As this was my first time organising an office move, I was naturally a little nervous, but the team at Brisbane Removalists made the entire process seamless from start to finish.

Eileen supported me through the booking process and ensured every detail was covered. Her knowledge and experience were invaluable, she guided me through considerations I hadn’t even thought of, and highlighted things other companies hadn’t mentioned. I genuinely felt at ease knowing we were in such capable hands.

On moving day, we had four fantastic removalists take care of the relocation. A special shoutout to Chris, Kevin, Horhay and Sebastian for their professionalism, hard work and the care they took with our furniture and office equipment. They kept everything running smoothly and made what could have been a stressful day feel effortless.

We highly recommend Brisbane Removalists for any move, particularly office relocations.

Thank you again to the entire team!
Response from the owner:Hi Brittany, what a lovely review. Thank you for posting this. We do a lot of office moves and they can be tricky in the city with so many rules. Many do not realize this when they book. We always have to look at height restrictions, loading zone rules, building rules for lift use etc. Much better to have all this ironed out before move day so there are no surprises. We are thrilled your move went to plan and that there was no issue parking at the second after all. Very hard to organise from another city on top of that so great job at your end too. It was lovely working with you on this. All the best Brittany. Eileen. Thomas and the team.

Eileen’s team helped us move house and they were fantastic. The three guys were punctual, well organised, incredibly strong, and handled a huge number of boxes with ease. Communication was excellent and nothing was too much trouble, they even helped take a few items for donation and disposal. Really impressed and happy to recommend Brisbane Removalists to anyone needing a reliable and hardworking moving crew.
Response from the owner:Hi Dan, thanks so much for a lovely review. We really appreciate the time and effort as we all know that this is the last thing on your mind when you have just moved home. I will let Seb. Thomas and Jesus know that you have appreciated their hard work. So glad we could help you transition into your new adventure with a little less stress. Happy landing Eileen and the team. :)

This company is amazing! We had a move booked in and unfortunately had to reschedule due to issues with the real estate agency and bond cleaning. They were so helpful and helped us reschedule for another date without any additional costs! Thank you team!!!
Response from the owner:Hi Bree, thank you for your lovely review. It is par for the course to have to reschedule with so many variables with moving. We do it regularly - our planning is a moving tapestry even to the point of sometimes having to find on-the-day solutions for settlements that fall through after uplift. I am glad we could help and that this took away some of your stress. We hope that when the dust settles you can start your new adventure stress-free. Eileen and the team.

We had a tricky move, based on a very steep drive way and also a 3 story town house. Andre and Brad were great, with their infectious attitude and can do approach. Would definitely book again for my next move.
Response from the owner:Thanks for the lovely shout out to the team. Some moves are tougher than others, and that is why we have superheroes! I am glad that they did not lose their fighting spirit! I am sure that you all had fun! Nothing like a challenge to charge one's will. Enjoy your new adventure in your new home. I will pass on your review to the team. Eileen.

Aileen went way beyond ‘above and beyond’ to get my move slotted in in a very tight timeframe - she quite literally made it possible for me to get out of a difficult living situation, all while being so patient and kind when things didn’t go to plan.
The moving teams they sent out were wonderful, just lovely guys who got the job done carefully and quickly and had all the needed equipment etc.
I’m very grateful to Aileen and the team - their service made a huge part of a really hard situation just that little bit easier to deal with and that’s worth its weight in gold.
Response from the owner:Hi A., we are just relieved that we could help out and support you in this difficult time. It was a team effort. Thanks to another lovely customer who helped us by pushing her move back, we were able to make it work. I wish you all the very best for the future and a fresh start. I am sure 2026 will be a more positive one. You deserve it. Have a lovely Christmas. Eileen and the team.
What hard workers and knowledgeable great to deal with !!
Response from the owner:Thank you, Smiley. Really happy to have made your move possible and that the team did a great job. :) I will let Erick know. I hope you have a wonderful Christmas. Cheers, Eileen and the superhero team!

We used Brisbane removalists for moving our pharmacy and lab to a new location. We liked their punctuality, professionalism and best of all, the customer service and communication. However, we ended up paying much more than what we expected.
Response from the owner:Hi Maryam. thank you for your lovely review. We always appreciate clients taking the time to do this. We are glad our professionalism shone through. We do strive to maintain this at every stage of the process. I am sorry that you ended up paying more than you expected. We gave you an estimate of 5 .5 hours and it took 6.5 plus you had $60 packing material added on the job. It is extremely difficult to estimate a job, but it is standard that this can go either side, which we make clear. The difference can be due to unknown access issues, and in your case, the extra care needed for extremely expensive laboratory equipment and ensuring we delivered it safely. We are super happy that we did this perfectly, as it was a high-risk job. We wish you all the best in the new clinic. Have a wonderful Christmas, Eileen and the team.

From Eileen who took my call and turned an impossible situation around, to Vanderson and Sebastien who tirelessly moved us into a warehouse during a very humid day, I can not recommend a moving company more enthusiastically! They were so responsive and incredibly professional and a joy to have working in your space! Thank you so much for all your help yesterday! 💪
Response from the owner:So lovely of you to have taken the time to review us Jodie. Glad we could turn your last minute let down into a positive. Brisbane Removalists have been incredible in moving us today! We have had the best experience from our initial enquiry, booking, arriving on time with a courtesy call half an hour prior, and understanding multiple drop offs along the way.
Our family have been very happy with how easy this emotional move has been made for us. Thank you so much.
Response from the owner:Thank you so much for taking the time to thank the team and their efforts. We appreciate the positive feedback. We are just really happy we could help out under the circumstances and make it easier for you. We wish you all the very best. Take care :) Eileen and the team.
