Taking the Stress out of Moving with Professionals
Why not shed the stress?
Moving, alongside death and divorce, is said to be one of the top 3 most stressful things to deal with in life.
We would all agree that being organised and fully packed prior the move, can when taking the stress out on the day, but regardless of this, the stress to organise the move itself and all the logistics of this takes its toll.
Three of the main causes for stress in this regard, are
1). the attachment we have to our belongings and not wanting them damaged,
2). whether we have chosen the right removalists and
3). whether we are going to get what we pay for.
Below are some of the most frequent questions and fears related to removalists and moving.
- Will they turn up on time or will they even turn up at all? (It is after all a business that has a bad rap for this. It only takes a few cowboy companies to give us all a bad reputation).
- Will they take care in the handling of my furniture and goods? Will they get to the other side in one piece?
- Will they work efficiently or dawdle just to make more money? It is after all on an hourly rate!
- How many hours should it take?

Use the Professionals at Brisbane Removalists
At Brisbane Removalists, we are not magicians, but we are here to make your move as stress-free as it can possibly be.
We pull out all stops to make sure we do your move on the appointed day. It has been our clients’ misfortune on only 2 occasions in the last 4 months to have to change a booking date, but we have never cancelled on anyone.
One of those was just this week, when a large motorway accident meant our truck missed the ferry booking to Russell Island and with no later ferries to be had, we were forced to push the move back 2 days.
Mostly, when issues occur, such as a sick offsider, or urgent truck maintenance is necessary, we do everything to ensure that we cover the move the same day, even if it means a late night for the boys.
Whilst this might not be the ideal solution for clients, it is better than leaving them high and dry looking for last minute movers and creating more stress and costs.
Most people are very understanding and appreciate that we do not just let them down with an 8.00 phone call and a scant apology.

Shed the Stress by choosing the Right Team
Will we look after your goods?
Yes, we have trained professionals looking after you. Our boys have been in the business for many years.
We have had the same team leaders coordinating your move, that they may have even moved you in the past.
This consistency is what has given us the edge on providing you with a quality move.
We also published an earlier story giving some great information about removing stress when moving. You can find it “HERE“
Why We Use The "Charge by the Hour" System
The reason companies use an hourly rate system is easy.
No two moves are the same. There are so many factors in moving that need to be calculated – lift restrictions, settlement time constraints, poor access, good access, number of stairs, client preparation or lack thereof, traffic, and the list goes on.
We cannot therefore predict how long a job will take and therefore cannot give a set fee. This could be exploited, but those that do so, are soon outed as it is pretty obvious to the client.
Efficiency is one word that pops up regularly in our reviews.
How long? How long is a piece of string? We go by this rule of thumb when planning at our end: 1 bedroom – 2 hours, 2 bedrooms – 4 hours, 3 bedrooms – 6 hours, all the while knowing full well that any number of issues or lack of issues mentioned above, can change the outcome.
It is, however, a good place to start! This is why it is essential to ask so many questions when booking and use realestate.com.au to check out access.
